Wax lube question

At one time toilet ring seals were made of mostly beeswax, nowadays I don't know. Years ago the beeswax rings were frequently used as a bullet lube component to which graphite, and other things were added to make homemade bullet lubes.I found a Youtube thread by Fortune Cookie 45 last night and he uses toilet wax sealers on his cast bullets. Has anyone tried this and is there excess smoke?
Any beeswax, grease based lubes are known for their smokiness and dirtiness (Black sludge in the gun). The old NRA 50/50 formula was a popular beeswax and Alox grease based lube that was pretty much the default standard some years ago. I used a lot of it until I switched over to Powder Coating my cast bullets.

Good to know. I hate smoke btw. If I liked it I'd take up Black Powder Shooting. Yes, the PC is awesome. I avoided casting before because the hassle lubing cast bullets.

Apparently they WERE made of beeswax,but not so much anymore. Now they may be petro by product. Petroleum is generally avoided because it can turn to asphalt in your bore.
I've seen bulk beeswax.lanolin,etc on e-bay.
Loading smokeless and bullet lube is different than loading black powder cartridge. BPCR the lube has the additional function of keeping the fouling soft and moist. Hard.dry fouling ruins accuracy for lead bullet/ BPCR

I always keep 2 or 3 toilet rings on hand because I'm 40 miles from the nearest town and they are very soft..
Black powder always uses an animal or natural based lube.
My beeswax is very hard so I personally cant see a toilet ring made from 100% that.
My lube mixture is 50% beeswax and 50% alox350(which I heard is no longer available) then 10-11% parafin wax to make it a little harder. I use this in ALL my cast boolits from .380 to 30-06 with great results.
