waterproof duffle bag recommendations

I'm looking for a durable, waterproof duffle bag to use as an all-around bag and if need be, a bug out bag. I already have a couple of duffle bags, one is waxed canvas and the other is a Filson bag I got on clearance. The Filson bag is a basic canvas bag and likely made overseas, as opposed to their nicer MiUSA line of duffles. It'll do in a pinch but i've relegated it as a bug out bag for my 7 yo.

With that said, I've only looked at Ortlieb and Patagonia. Ortlieb seems to have a stellar reputation among gear heads who are into biking and camping. I like Patagonia but don't know anything about the quality of their bags.

Are there any other companies out there worth looking into? Ortlieb is at the top of my list so far and aren't terribly expensive, but I'd like to do more research and cover all my bases.

For his stuff of course. I packed a bag for him last week in case I had to haul @ss to grandma and grandpa's farm post election. I only put clothes in there for him.

Look to river tripper gear.

I've been out of it for quite a while,but try Northwest River Supply

I've owned some "Bill's Bags" that served me well.

A low cost workable option is trash compactor bags inside a common duffel/backpack.

Waterproof as in "I dropped it in the river and took a while to recover" or "it's raining and I don't want my stuff to get wet while walking"?

Pretty big difference in "waterproof" definitions possible and use/need may require some additional information.

Waterproof as in I don’t want my things getting wet in a downpour, or exposed to snow. Things I would put in the duffle include clothing, first aid kit, toiletries and food stuff.

OK. River bags may be a bit overkill. For cheap,lightweight,practical,...I'd protect my gear with trash compactor bags and ziplock freezer bags within the pack
Those might (if you want) get protected/organized by a light stuff sack or two

You CAN get a truly waterproof river bag with pack straps. A bit heavy,not so good for load distribution,...a mediocre to poor backpack,but,submersible.

You can put a raincover on a pack,etc,but its hard to keep water from getting into a pack wih zippers,etc.

IMO,accept water can get in. But you can pack your gear to stay dry.
