Wanted more info on the 9.3x62: Historical performance, typical bullets/loads, etc.

Glamdring

My Id seems to think I need another rifle. And I have been thinking about a pseudo scout in 9.3x62.

Most factory loads that I know about use the 286 grain bullet. For deer and lighter game I would probably use Nosler's 250 BT or a similar wt bullet from Hawk at ~2600 fps.

Would like any/all info people have on the cartridge.

Thanks.

I've been reading up on this cartridge, and it looks to be one of the great undiscovered cartridges on this side of the Atlantic. It delivers between 3,500 and 4,000 ft. lbs., but supposedly without the extreme pressure and recoil of a magnum. The editor had very good things to say about it in "cartridges of the world." I'm eyeing it as a possible all-around Alaska cartridge, though it might be a bit much for 'bou or Sitka deer.
