Value Of Smith & Wesson 17-8?

Well, I'm thinking about starting to sell the majority of my firearms. Part of me hates to do it, but things are what they are. Anyway, I checked Gunbroker and there was only one 17-8 that had sold (without reserve). It sold for $899 with one bid.

The 17-8 is the matte blue 10-shot version. Mine is in great shape with the original box.

So, has anyone seen one of these sell in your area, and if so, what was the selling price?

The ones I have recently seen have been in the $900 to $1100 range. I have a Model 17 around 1958 and a Model 17-7 around 1968. Both are 6 shot. That being the only reason I watch the prices on them. The overall condition plays a big part in what a gun will sell for also.

Well, the 17-8 is an odd duck in the Model 17 family with the matte blue finish and 10-shot aluminum cylinder, so, they don't seem to be very prevalent.
