My dad has a Smith and Wesson model 65-2 with a serial number of 1D72725 what is the worth and age.

Could be worth anywhere from $200 to $400, depending on the barrel length (3" bbls are worth more than 4" bbls), condition and location of the gun.

It was made in 1979/80.

It has a barrel of 4''. My dad said he paid $180 for it brand new.
