Value for a Sako 75 SS?

I didn't really expect a response since no one likes these "how much is it worth posts" but I'll give an update anyways.
The picture is about the roughest part of the rifle. The stock has seen some use and there are a couple of light marks on the barrel but other than that it looks great. The barrel looks to be in fantastic condition lining right up with the approx 120 round count.
The action is smooth as butter, one of the best I have ever personally felt.

So how did I do for $600?
This is the rule of thumb that I use. If the rifle is still in production I figure a used one will sell for 50-75% of what the same rifle will sell for new. How close to 50% or 75% depends on condition. And whether you're buying or selling. If I'm selling I'm trying for 75%, buying and I'm trying for 50%.
In this case since the rifle has been replaced by a newer model it is harder to say. I'd find the price of the closest similar rifle and do the same thing.
The optics should be figured separately. On higher quality brands like Zeiss and upper end Leupold figure about 1/2 what new one sells for if on the rifle. Sold separately closer to 75%.
Mounts don't add anything to the value and lesser quality scopes add very little if anything.
Considering many people consider the newer Sako 85 to not be as good as the 75 I think $600 is a good deal.

I have a SAKO (pronounced "Socko" in Finnish) Model 75 synthetic stainless in 30-06 as well. I love the rifle, save for one negative: The clip magazine release lever, which is too easy to accidently trip it; so much that I have to duct tape over the magazine opening when I go hunting. The SAKO Model 75 30-06 magazines are getting hard to find on the internet --- So may I suggest picking an extra one up if you can (though they are expensive...$75?).
Some years ago...the president of SAKO went hunting in Africa with his Model 75. He accidently tripped the magazine release lever and the magazine fell in a puddle of mud. He then realized that he would have to design a new rifle --- That's how the Model 85 came about.

Good luck finding a Sako of any vintage using that formula unless you get extremely lucky.
OP, I love my 75, never had a Mag issue but, I’ve never heard of one with a blind mag. I love my 85’s even more. I’d say you did well.
