UZI SBR Build - School Me

So my fiancée got to shoot a full auto UZI rental at a gun rage a while back and I've been looking into building her a semi auto one, don't have $10k to drop on one equipped with a happy switch.

I found this McKay parts kit (http://www.robertrtg.com/store/pc/MCKAY-ENTERPRISES-UZI-COMPLETION-KIT-p2790.htm) that seems to be a pretty good way to start a semi auto build.

Can anyone tell me what parts I would need to hunt down, good places to get them, and what tools I would need to finish it?

Uzi Talk would be a good place to start for information. D&D sales in Tucson is a Uzi parts supplier and a great source of information as well.

Don't even have to cut down the barrel. Uzi barrels screw in and out. Buy the rifle version, file form 1, receive tax stamp, swap in SBR barrel.

If you work from a parts kit, you will need to modify your bolt to fire from closed bolt semi auto position or buy one (~$250) and you will need a semi auto grip frame or the ability to weld the shelf in yourself. If you build it as a rifle, remember you need a certain number of US parts to meet 922(r) compliance. Pistols do not have to. I believe there's an ATF letter stating registered SBRs don't have to, which would mean building it first as a pistol and then SBR would save you dealing with that hassle.

McKay makes drop in semi auto bolt and receiver assemblies which should make the process easy, if not more expensive

Be careful not to use a barrel from a full-auto UZI in a semi-auto UZI. If I recall correctly, they won't fit, will need to be turned on a lathe to remove some material. For a time, someone made short barrels specifically for semi-auto UZI's. I think some were even offered chrome lined. This was 20 years ago or more, so I have no idea what barrels are still available for the UZI. I do see full-auto parts sets pop up on gunbroker now and then, but most of the parts in those sets just won't work in a semi-auto UZI.

Thanks y'all, is it possible to finish one of these kits without doing any welding? It's not a big deal if not, I have a buddy who can weld, but it's just a step I'd like to avoid.

Looks to me like the receiver is a completely welded receiver. I'm talking about the one for $229 on the website. The parts pictured, however, do not look like not the semi-auto parts.

Ok so here's the parts list I've compiled so far, as far as I know it's complete but my knowledge of the Uzi is rather limited, here goes:
