Use of .330 Round Ball ????

I recently aquired some M/L shooting supplies from a friend that is getting out of it, all together. In the lot, was a plastic container of about 100 round balls. They Mic. .330 and so far have not been able to define what M/L they might be good for. I suspect that they might be for a revolver. Now, I shoot a .36 rifle and those balls run at .350. Any and all help would be appreciated. ... ;)

You didn't ask a question.
.330 balls would be OK for a .34 cal. ml rifle or a .32 cal. C&B revolver. Or put some in a modern shotgun shell and call it buckshot.
Or melt down and recast into a size you have a use for.

If you look at the title line, You will see a string of question marks. At any rate, you managed to provide an answer and do appreciate that .... :)

There where quit a few original muzzle loaders in the 34 to 35 cal range. Could it be possible that your friend had such a beast??

Possibly and will surely have to look into it. He only had one long gun left and that was a Seneca and I got that as well. ..... ;)

.330 roundball is 00 buckshot and is kind of an in between size as far as common muzzleloading calibers is concerned.

That is what threw me as it was in the same box with rifle and revolver round balls. Not sure what he was doing with it. I suppose I could shoot it with a thicker pillow ticking, just for fun, in my .36. Thanks for the input ..... ;)

On the other hand, 000 buckshot is .350 and is nearly perfect for .36 caliber rifles, and way less expensive than .350 round balls sold as muzzleloading round balls.
I have had great results with Hornady 000 buck in my .36.

Well, I could probably use the .330 in my .32 pistol. It has a False Muzzle
and the 0 Buck I use now measure .325 at the widest.

I have seen you post this before and very good information. I enjoy running my own lead and have quite a few .350's on hand not to mention a new mold that came with box of supplies. ..... :)

Think about it and if want them, they are yours. Just pay the actual shipping. I will re-mic them and make sure they are all of that. As they say; Measure twice, cut once. .... ;)

I usually measure once and cut three times!!!!
I really don't need them. Thanks tho. Say, on the subject of Buckshot I was
talking to Hornady yesterday and I ask them how pure was their Buckshot. I
was told it is 97% pure lead with 3% antimony added. No shortage of Buckshot. I have 17 5lb. boxes of 0 Buck and need to buy another 6. There
is 720 balls in 5lbs. I want a 17,000 supply on hand. That matches my cap
and powder supply. We shoot 1,000 a year, so at the present rate that's 17
years of shooting. I'm 68. So that should last my lifetime. Wife says I could
go at any time tho. Mebby I'm on browered time now? She says if she catches me looking at the lady next door in her halter top mowing her lawn
I won't be needing any balls???

We are all on borrowed time and life is terminal. Give yourself as much clean fun as you can and while you can. I can tell you have had perhaps more than your share of shooting as I, but there is still enough of that little boy in me to want one more new gun. Ya know, the one you thought you could not afford back then. .... :)

Nothing wrong with looking at the menu as long as you come home, for supper. ..... ;)

As far as the lead goes; purity sounds good enough to me and going by your inventory, looks like you have plenty of balls. .......

Hmm, 3% antimony in Hornady's buckshot? I can dent the buckshot I own with my thumbnail so I figured it was pure enough.
