I heard the New Dakota was made by Uberti . Are parts interchangable on the SAA's specifically the grips ?

I believe they were made by ASM and most parts won't interchange. Italian grips are installed on the grip frame and finished together as one unit. Grips from one gun aren't likely to be a good fit on another and many won't work at all.

U.S. Fire Arms Mfg. Co. was the only firearm company still manufacturing in the City of Hartford, CT, when it closed in 2011. [2] Due to space limitations, the company built an additional production location outside of the Blue Dome in order to accommodate their CNC machinery.

In 2011 USFA abandoned their manufacture of some of the finest Colt revolver replicas ever made and went to the exclusive manufacturing of their "ZIP .22" pistol. An ill-designed, ungainly little hand gun that proved to be highly unreliable. As a result, USFA is now out of business.
