Anyone have one? Thinking about the stallion model, Pic of it show Case harden frame but writeup says matt finish? What major differences between the new model and old model? Thanks for any info.

Apparently, the only one with the 'matte' finish is the 'Stallion'...It is also .38spcl...

If you want the 'case hardened' model in the same length as the 'Stallion', go with the plain Bird's Head in .357mag (3.5" barrel) and only shoot .38's in it...

If you're asking about the frames, one has a screw to hold the base pin in place like the old black powder frames. The other has a spring loaded cross bar to do the same.

Plus the black powder frame has the round "bullseye" shaped ejector rod head, whil the pre-war model has the cresent sheped head.

And the retaining screw of the black powder frame:

And the spring loaded cross bolt:

Thanks, Mr. Wright. I had forgotten about that. Which is odd, because that is kind of what sold me on that particular frame, even though the cross bar is more convenient.
