I would like you to pass on a hearty Virginia Welcome to your friend. When he gets here he will find the gun laws very palatable. After he sets up residency he should be able to get a Virginia resident Concealed Carry Permit quite easily. Also Virginia is an open carry state so anyone who can legal possess a gun can carry it openly without a permit. If he enjoys the outdoors we have a good hunting season (depending on where he prefers), very good fishing areas, hiking trails all over the state. We have many state parks and the Shenandoah National Park which is a place everyone should see once in their lives. I know I sound like I work for the state tourism group but I'm not, I am just a good ol' Virginian who is proud of the state and our heritage.
