Hey! just got a new usp compact in .357 sig caliber. I've read some of the general opinions on hk's (used to own one in .40 cal a vew years ago) and am just looking for some general opinion on the gun/caliber combination and the caliber in itself. as i recall, sig developed it a few years ago based on the ballistics for the .357 magnum revolver cartridge, due to it's relatively high ratings for stopping power in the marshall/sanow reports. apparently, it didn't really catch on however (probably due to competition from the also then relatively-new .40 cal cartridge which law enforcement widely embraced) and is somewhat difficult to find lately. so, there you have it.. any thoughts guys?
