Information
Since 1975, the Trauma Foundation has promoted a public health approach to the prevention of traumatic injury. The Trauma Foundation works with activists, policy makers and public health researchers at the local, state, national and, more recently, international levels to develop sound prevention policies. Since 1996, the Trauma Foundation has worked with colleagues around the globe to promote international firearm control policies aimed at reducing access to handguns worldwide, to improve the collection and dissemination of data on firearm production and use, and to help prevent the exportation of the American gun problem to other countries.
