Thinking of buying a UZI

I got my sights set on a Uzi more than likely a IMI make not sure about the other manufacturers or other makes so maybe someone can give me some insight pro's and con's of any of them.

my buddy has 2 original israeli uzi's (both full auto). he has also owned a couple of imitations. his feeling is that the imitations don't hold a candle to the original. i never fired any of his imitations.

I used to own an IMI Mini Uzi.

It is an acquired taste.

Make sure you try one out before you buy one, particularly if you are going to shell out the money to buy a real IMI.

I didn't like it at all.

Pros:

-Very easy to take apart and clean
-Looked cool

Cons:

-Sights were crude
-Extremely heavy, for a 9mm
-Grip safety was a pain in the rear
-Very heavy action spring with a very small cocking knob was difficult to do in a hurry.

thanks for the input Crow I will keep that in mind when I go looking for one. Unfortunately I cant just find one around here so handling one may be a trick
