Just thought everyone should be aware of the kind of anti-gun craziness that is currently going on in the wake of 9-11. We must be diligent and keep organizations like the VPC from achieving their goal of prohibiting us common peasants from being able to shoot this great cartridge, particularly since it's we peasants that developed the round in the first place. Ironic, huh? For those not aware, the .50 BMG actually started out as civilian recreation round, and was later adopted by the military because it worked so well. We must also keep the VPC from taking away the great launching platforms, like the Barret Light .50. Here's the link to the VPC page on this:

By the way, while I was at Shot Show, the boys at the 50 Caliber Shooters Association had a booth there. I ended up buying a couple issues of their magazine, which is pretty interesting. We should all get behind the FCSA and help them keep the .50 BMG available for future generations of civilians to enjoy, even if we don't shoot .50 BMG ourselves.
The .50 BMG is definitely worth saving.
