The New Gun Control

‘A burglar is your common, garden variety criminal,”spokesman for the Lowell Police Department Max Cretan observed. “We deal with this kind of problem every day. Sokolowski, on the other hand, is a greater threat. He has dangerous knowledge. And with the equipment he had he could easily assemble bombs. Making bombs is a terrorist activity. Having the means to make bombs is possession of terrorist paraphernalia. That’s against the law.”

“We’re not saying a person can’t own a weapon. But this privilege must be weighed against the state’s need to control access to firearms. So, when a person goes overboard like this we see it as a potentially serious threat to peace and order.”
And this statement was made by a police spokescritter in the state that was the hotbed of liberty around 1775.

Frightening ... and I am NOT referring to Mr. S and his allegedly terrorist paraphernalia.

A bunch of people who work at Los Alamos probably have dangerous knowledge" about how to make a nuclear device, too. Better round 'em all up and charge them with something ... anything ... as a preemptive measure.

I am glad the Lowell MA police will never be in my reloading room. Terrorist paraphernalia? What a bunch of crap!

In some ways, this is the most telling line of the whole article. He's been deemed a threat because he has dangerous knowledge.

Sorry kids - this is problematic.

1. Probably a copyright violation
2. A drive - by with no significant commentary.

Thus, closed and I'm editing out the quotes.
