This is the first new model in years, chambered for the .17 Mach II - good on Whittaker and Ruger for making these available (if only for a limited run).

17 Mach 2 was a really cute round, it lost out to the 17 HMR in the velocity department. But for converting a 22LR to 17, the 17 Mach 2 works really well. Ammo can be hard to find.

Very limited bullet weights. Midway lists 15.5 and 17 grain bullets from Hornady and CCI only starting at $6.99 per 50. Cabela's lists CCI only at $8.99 per 50.
Wally World doesn't show ammunition on line at all, but you should check there. If it's not in Wally World you very likely won't find it in any small shop.

Picked mine up this morning, and the serial number ends in '17'... Brilliant!
