The Fat Lady

The fat lady walked on stage and tapped the mike, clearing her throat as she did so. She waited until she had the entire audience paying attention and the music hall was silent. She nodded to the accompaniest, who began playing the introductory notes.

Then she burped several times and walked off stage chuckling. As she departed, she was heard to remark, "I'll come sing in a few days."

"Meanwhile, this short message form our sponsors" the voice overhead said.

I don't know about anyone else, but this media circus was/is becoming a bit too entertaining for my tastes. I was/am impressed by the close association the "reporting" had to a WWF match.
