The base gun will be this Rock Island Armory standard 5" GI 1911. I purchased it NIB with an extra Novak magazine and the grips in the picture (it came with the standard smooth grips) for $370.

Now I just need to order the Ciener 22LR conversion kit.

My only complaint about this gun thus-far is that the parkarized finish is ultra-thin. It already has scratches and wear just from handling. It's also next to impossible to keep clean looking, that finish seems to be a magnet for oils. For what I paid I'm not concerned with it. When the finish gets really bad, as I know it will once it starts getting used, I'll send it off and get a nice cote of Cera-Hide on it.

Just finished polishing the barrel. Here are the before pics, to show you why it needed polishing:

*Keep in mind this has never been fired outside the factory. That's just how thin the finish is.
