For all the veterans past, present, and future this republic is indebted to you and your service here and overseas.

Your hallmark of self sacrifice and honor is the cornerstone of what this country is all about.

God bless you and America.

I've made a small contribution since 1972, without a break.

My pleasure: No "thanks" required.

I'm off to a service for some of my brothers, shortly. "Thanks" is required, however, to them.

I was setting out on the atrium one day (just before veterans day) when another employee walks up and says "You're a veteran aren't you?". "Yeah. The army. Two years." He shakes my hand and says "Thank you." That just made my entire day.

To those still here, who have served and are currently serving; I salute you. To those who have passed away from us..........

They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.

Another "Thank You"

I think thats the one thing that a serviceman appreciates most. Its not the long hours, being away from home, in harms way or the sacrifice.

Its a simple "Thank You" that matters most.

In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The last stanza says all that anyone ever need know about the meaning of this day. Never break their faith in us. Never.

Hey LennyJoe...

You're welcome and thank you, too. Oh wait; you're still active duty. Well, thanks anyway. :D
