Thanks for the Help, Here is My New Mountain Gun

A few weeks ago I sought the Forums thoughts on a .45 Colt Revolver. ( http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=530452 ) I picked my new revolver up today. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and help. :)

It is a Smith & Wesson Mountain Gun in Model 25 with a 4" barrel.

Below is a picture compared to my .357 Magnum Model 686. The 686 is slightly heavier.

Great guns..both of 'em. I've looked for a 657 (.41 Magnum) in the Mountain Gun barrel size for years with no luck...folks that have 'em, keep 'em. Rod

Mtn's

The "mtn gun" in .45 makes the most sense for the project, to me anyhow. I suppose techically speaking, its the lightest model (biggest holes) but likely not by much. The .45 cal works well at low pressures, and I would think make the slimmed down revolvers easy to shoot.

So....what's mine, .44 mag, as that's all there was at the time. When .45 came about, I just couldn't see loading for yet another caliber, so I passed. I just run the .44 at a tad over .44 Spl power and live with it.

your .45 is a Very nice revolver.
