Texans...........is Interstate - 10 Passable??

Fellow Texans,

My parents are visiting us in far-west (Alpine) Texas, from Florida.

and are travelling back on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Will they be able to take I-10 back through San Antonio, or is it

closed?

They had to detour up around Austin earlier this week when they came

West and are not looking forward to repeating that trip...

I've looked on all the weather and DOT sites, and they don't mention

specifically if I-10 is open or not..

Info/Help?

It was open a couple of weeks ago, when I was back home on vacation...there's still some construction slowdowns, but it was open...

Brave folks.

I like to time going through Houston at 3 to 4 AM. Then it is more like going through the asteroid belt as compared with riding in a brass polishing tumbler during rush hour. :eek:

It was closed in the san Antonio area temporarily during the huge flood. However, it is now open. I don't believe that it was damaged so you should be ok. Naturally, there may have been some construction projects already in process so you'll have to be patient in those areas.

Other than that, you should be good to go. Ya'll drive safe.

It isn't reported as closed today. I think part of I-10 near downtown was closed for a few days last week but all roads are passable as of today.
