Taylor Arms quality / accuracy

Big Cabin

I may pick up a Taylor's 38-55 High Wall. It is a nicely put together rifle and looks great. Here is the big question....Like so many 38-55's from anyone that ever made them the big question is accuracy and bore size.
Does anyone have any experience with one or with Taylor in general?

Before I make the jump, I sure would like to hear your thoughts!
thanks guys.

I have one in 45-70, very accurate with my 30" barrel. Just remember that the 38-55 is virtually the same as the .375 Win, just has a little longer casing and usually shoots a .001" larger diameter lead pill. If you are shooting smokeless and jacketed, shoot the 220 grain Hornady .375's with 'bout 33 grains of AA1680. If you are shoot'n lead, I'd use a 255 grain with about 23 grains of H4198. Of course if you use BP, try 'bout 51 grains of FFg with a .030" veggie wad and have a COL of 2.55/60".
