Taurus Titanium - What about it?

Since S & W is in its current position I have turned my interests toward Taurus. Specifically the 617T which is their .357 titanium, 7-shot, snubby. They are spendy - $450 - and I am trying to get as much information about Taurus and the 617T as possible before I plunk down my cash. Any and all experiences or opinions would be appreciated.

Looks like a decent gun, my only reservation is that I don't like ported guns for defensive use.

I have to admit I am interested in the Taurus Titanium Tracker 41 Mag, but have been hesitating due to my past experience with Taurus. I have an 85 I bought 15 years ago and it was a POS. I cleaned up the internals, bobbed the hammer, DAO'd it, and refinished it. Its now acceptable, but I use it as a clunker that rattles around in the car.
