Taurus PT745?

A friend of mine will probably be getting rid of his PT745 & would sell it to me for $250. I've don't have any experience w/this model. Input?

I was planning on picking up a Glock 19 & a Browning Buckmark, but I may just have to pick up the PT745 and put the .22 on hold. :(

I'm a fan of the Millenium Pros. An ex-cop buddy of mine has the PT145, which is essentially the same thing in a double stack, and he likes it. Since you're already picking up a Glock 19, though, I would decide if it will fill a role that the G19 won't. True, it might be more easily concealable than the Glock. However, in a SD situation, whether CC, home or car, I would rather have 15+1 rounds of hot 9mm+P or +P+ (the Glock will easily handle that) running full speed out of a 4" barrel than 6+1 rounds of .45 handicapped by a 3.25" barrel. But that's me. If it's for range use, than the Taurus probably won't be much fun, either. It's not made for that.

Besides, .22 LR is a lot cheaper than .45 ACP. I'd stay with the original plan and get the Buckmark.

The Glock & my current M&P .40 will be for HD. Can't carry in NJ, but I'd like to have a compact in case I ever move or get my FL non-resident CCW permit & then carry when I go over to PA etc.

But that's me. If it's for range use, than the Taurus probably won't be much fun, either. It's not made for that.
I'll certainly be firing it at the range to keep it fresh & verify no issues. So a little range use (I'll have to stock a new caliber w/the .45 as I do not currently have a .45 in my collection) and then it will be hidden somewhere at home for HD along w/the M&P & the Glock should the need ever arise.

Maybe he'll have it long enough where I can get the .22 now, apply for another permit & buy it when it comes in. :D

I have owned the PT-145 in the past and wanted an easier to conceal .45 auto. So about a month ago I picked up a PT-745. I love it. The recoil is surprisingly light for this little gun. I love it! I am going to be getting a Smart Carry holster for it so I can carry it and a reload everywhere. I would get it if I were you. Get the .22 next payday. Since I got the .45 last time, this time I am picking up my new varmint rifle.

It's not about not being able to afford all 3 guns. It's the fact that I have apps in for 2 more pistol permits right now & would have to do a 3rd & wait for it. Stupid NJ

I've owned a PT745 for over a year and used up about 500 rounds of ammo. I find it to be a good light weight compact .45ACP for OC or CC use. My PT745 prefers 185gr JHP.

BTW, $250 is a pretty good price for a PT745, two magazines and box.
