Just saw one of these in the local shop and figured since there was such a hubbub about Taurus making a 9mm 1911 I thought this may be a step forward for them.

Taurus has actually been making the .38 Super versions for well over a year now. They also have produced, by unsubstantiated rumor albeit, a few 9mm versions. Just let everything settle down, and they will sell 1911s in 9, .38Super .40, .45, and probably commander and compact versions as well. There are already double stack itterations shown in their New 2009 products catalog.
