Taurus Poly Protector

A coworker had a Taurus "Poly Protector" in .38 Special, which he was selling for just $150. It is ugly and crude looking, but I figured it might make good trading stock.

Anyone have here shot one of these? If so, what are your thoughts on the model?

They're not pretty, that's for sure, but they do have some advantages. Factory installed fiber-optic front sight, for example.
As trading fodder, it won't get you much. I'd only buy it if I intended to keep it. With that said, though, $150 is a great price.

Well more guns is more guns....

It could be a good snake buster when fishing the Lower Mo and other suchanges places. It would be a viable defense tool, IF I didn't own better.

I'll shoot it and see, but it doesn't seem to be built to even the standard of a Taurus metal-framed revolver.
