Here's how to tell if you're ready: hold a mirror up to your nose and mouth. If it fogs up, you're good to go.
Seriously, it's no harder than the drivers' license test. It's got the usual common sense things like, "You see some rustling in the bushes. Do you A) shoot at it; B) fire a warning shot; C) watch until you're sure what it is." I think there's some stuff about the documents you have to have on you, seasons, etc., and one about being politically correct with the carcass (don't tie it to your fender where everybody can see it).
Have you taken the test for your "basic firearms safety certificate"? It's on par with that.
