Tactical Gloves

Just FYI, I've found that these ordinary $15 winter golfing gloves give you much more dexterity and control than $50+ leather gloves, and actually improve the grip on a handgun over a bare hand. You have enough dexterity to get out your keys and open car and house doors with them on, too. Not as warm as "real" gloves, but warmer than nothing.

I've been using lightweight gloves under military D3A leather shells, and the've worked well in all but the coldest weather.

(And the coldest weather here in Minnesota is colder than most of you will ever see ;)

The military wool liners suck, but the shells are great with a decent lightweight glove as liner - and you can pull them off and wear the liners alone when you need dexterity.

I've used high-quality knitted wool gloves as liners. Currently I'm using gloves made from poly fleece. They're warmer, but slicker - harder to get a grip on things with.

I may give the golf gloves a try.

I hate gloves because you can't work in them. That said, I got a pair of Hatch gloves two years ago. Made for police duty wear I imagine they are similar to the golf glove. The back is neoprene and really helps keep the wind off. The palm is synthetic leather, and on the downside isn't waterproof in the least. The plus side is it is grippy, nonskid panels are also sewn in to the heel of the hand and all finger tips except for the trigger fingers.

The hardest use they have gotten is fixing helicopters, I can put screws in with them on, write, etc. They are actually less clumsy than no gloves because my fingers aren't going numb. I've also done a couple of IPSC matches wearing them, I have enough feel to load mags, record scores, paste targets, shoot, etc. Really no hindrance.

I just ordered a pair of the Hatch Specialist gloves that Navy Joe is talking about. They were $18.00.I haven't received them yet, but thought they'd be better than bare hands in the colder weather.

I am confused. At what point do my golf gloves turned shooting gloves become tactical and are they still tactical if I use when while playing golf?
