Synthetic Stocks and Cleaning Chemicals

The cleaning chemicals that you use to get copper fouling and general build up gunk in the barrel, if you got that on your synthetic stock would it eat into it? Or is there a coating on the stock???

Thanks all, and stay safe.

I have just ordered a Kimber Montana with a kevlar/carbon stock. The instructions warn about getting solvents ,bore cleaners ,etc on the stock !! I don't know yet if it has a coating or it's just the resin [epoxy ?] that has to be cared for. In any case - Keep stuff off the stock !!

Other than the Kevlar and carbon composite stocks, most synthetic stocks are made of glass filled nylon.
This is pretty impervious to most common chemicals and all bore solvents I know of.

Some finishes applied TO the stock may not be highly resistant, but most makers aren't going to put a finish on a stock that a bore solvent will ruin if a little gets on it.

If in doubt, contact the stock maker or the company that built the rifle.
