Stupid question XDm owners

I have a XDm 40 I bought a few months ago, I have only shot it a few times and just gave it a quick cleaning afterwards. this morning I had it field stripped and noticed some marks on the inside of the slide right behind the ejection port, they look like some kind of letters or symbols (croation mabey?)
they are not as deep as other markings on the frame but don't appear to be scratches. I tried to take a picture but becuse they are kind of small I couldn't get my camera to focus so close up.
can anyone tell me what they are?

did you try macro mode on the camera so it can get close?

They definately are not scratches. I took apart my XD-40 Service Model. The letters "R" "S" "S" are stamped onto the inside of the slide (between muzzle and ejection port. However, my XD-9 SC does not have this.

The XD-9 is a pre-Melonite version. The XD-40 is a batch with Melonite. Though that is not to say that the symbols indicate anything.
