Strange Ammo (Pictures)

So I was given 103 rounds of this stuff on links a few days ago. I'm guessing it's 7.62 NATO blanks, but I really don't have a clue. All of the blanks I've ever seen were crimped at the top.

Anyone know what it is? The other bullet is a 30-06 for comparison.

Concur with the ID. Used them myself in training in the 1970s in M60 machine guns. The long nose is to simulate the bullet during feeding. The gun is fitted with a clamp on blank adapter, restricting the bore to provide the gas pressure needed to work the action.

By the headstamp, they were made by the Lake City arsenal, in 1977.

Cool, thanks for the info! Now just to figure out what to do with them since I don't have anything that will shoot them...
