Storage of powder

I am not going to be reloading for awhile (probably up to a year). I still have several one pound canisters of powder, currently stored in my reloading room, inside my house.

What can, or should, I do with the powder? I was tempted to just load everything I have and see what is left over, but I do not think it would use even a half bottle.

I know the powder in the bullets will still be good.

Long term powder storage

1. Store inside the home, in a cool, dry, temperature stable area.
2. Keep away from light sources.
3. Tightly sealed plastic containers.
4. Store primers in the same manner.

Store it in the container it came in, indoors, and at room temperature away from bright light and it will probably last longer than you.

I'm still using powder stored that way that was made in the 1970's and it works just fine.

There are several posts on this forum as to how to tell if powder has gone bad which you may want to read.

Unless powder has been really mistreated via heat or humidity, it seems to last many decades.
