Steiner Binoculars

Looks like I have a chance to purchase some used Steiners tomorrow afternoon.

Guy has two pair for sale -
8x30 Navigators for $125 (OBO) or 7x50 Military/Marine for $175 (OBO)

What should I look for (these are used)? Which is the better deal?
If I can get the Military/Marine's for $150, does that change anything?

I'm going to be using these mainly for hunting (and scouting) and at the range (I can't tell where my bullets land on the target at 100 yards anymore). I'll also keep them in my car. Right now, I have a cheap pair of Simmons pocket binoculars that were worth the $20 I spent on them, but not much more..

I have some 7x50 Steiners, they are great. I watched the lunar eclipse here last week with them and they were amazing.
BUT they are heavy, I dont take them with me backpacking because of that. They also dont offer enough magnification to be useful on the range, except maybe at 25 yards for handguns.
Id go for the Navigator. I personally have a pentax 8x25 and its great for most of what I do.

I have the Navigator binoculars and it/they work fine for most of my needs.
No case or rear lens covers came with these binoculars but those things typically get in my way or aren't used, anyway.

Buy both.

walk away calmly till you get in car then do the happy dance.

7x50 MM stieners run about 350 new. the navs about 290 new.

There may be better glass in some bino's but there are none better built
