Going to a long distance shooting course next weekend at Gunsite Hills here in Georgia and wanted to work up a load this week and was wondering if anyone wanted to share some load data.

The rifles I will be using are the following:

Remington LTR 1:12 twist 20" Barrel (.308)
Reminton PSS 1:12 twist 26" Barrel (.308)

I have the following powders:

IMR 4064 and Varget

Since I cannot find BR primers I will be using standard primers.

Been a few months since I have been on here!! Glad to be back!

I realize that this recipe uses a powder and primer different from those you list, and that you did not list your brass, but this recipe is from 6mmBR magazine.

Note: Hornady brass has more capacity than Lapua. 2.845" OAL

My best .308 load....chono'd a 10 shot string this weekend and it had an unbelievable 2.2 SD.

Shot out of FN PBR w/ 20"

New Lapua brass, neck sized only to form the enecks a little better.
CCI BR2 Primers
Hornady 168 gr. A-MAX
45.0 grains Varget
OAL 2.798"
AVE: 2630 fps

10 shot group was MOA with 2 fliers (probably shooter) :)

Now that brass is fireformed, I will trim, deburr, primer pocket uniform, flash hole deburr, and neck size only......group sure to shrink and hopefully will get the same SD of 2.2

*used CED M2 chrono @ 12 ft.
