I ntice Starline offers a basic.cylindrical ,no taper ,no shoulder,no neck brass now.

I'm sure someone has invented an AR cartridge already and all I have to do is research, but a .357 ish cartridge can be done with this brass.
About .500 of bullet ogive can protrude.

I'm thinking a ballpark comparable cartridge is the .357 Maximum....just for visions.
The .223 based cartridge would be a little longer. And,the .357 Maximum has a Max SAAI pressure of 40,000 psi vs the .223 at 50,000 psi.

Per my Nosler book,in .357 Maximum, with 158 gr bullets, case capacity seems the limiting factor at about 1900+ fps and H-110 from a 10.5 in bbl

More interesting,to me,is a 180 gr partition handgun bullet that gets max pressure at 75 % case capacity with H-110/296. 1500 fps +. That means there would be room for more powder to get from 40,000 to 50,000 psi in the .223 based case. Also, going from a 10.5 in bbl to a 16 in bbl leads me to believe 2000 fps might be possible.with a 180. Certainly 1800 + Not quite a 35 Remington...but then, not so far behind.
Stock 223 magazines,bolt,etc.

IMO,the 180's would be a good hunting round, and for HD,the 158's at over 2000 fps would probably be effective manstoppers.

Cold, windy day.Something to think about. Actually

Since I assume this has been done,I'd be curious if someone is making barrels.I have an upper thats getting dusty.
