If anyone in the Austin,Texas area has had a shotgun shell latch staked, please tell me:
1.Where you had it done.
2.What it cost.
3.How long it took.

I just want a general idea about this process.

It doesn't "have" to be staked in, but reassembly is easier. Since it's out now, clean oil residue out of channel and off of the latch, put a few spots of super glue in the channel, use the pin to line up the holes, and clamp down with pliers. Let it sit for a moment, Done! GW

Exactly. I Superglued one about 6 years ago as a temporary measure and now I don't remember which one it was. I will never stake another one, and I have the staking tool. Also, I have seen a lot of receivers buggered up by amateur staking.
