Springfield "Loaded" Mainsprings

My Springfield Loaded 1911 .45 model has a heavy trigger pull. So I ordered some lighter mainsprings from a reputable dealer, only to discover that they don't fit. Apparently, the spring used in the lockable mainspring housing is of a different length than the 1911 standard.

Am I wrong, has anyone else experienced this or have a solution?

You are correct, the mainspring cap plunger is longer in the key lock guns to give a place for the lock cylinder to engage. So the mainspring is shorter. I see two choices: Inquire with Wolff to see if they have ILS springs yet; or get a conventional mainspring cap and a conventional spring and forget about the lockup. Check with your legal advisor before disabling any safety device no matter how ridiculous, of course.

Jim,

Thanks for the confirmation, and unfortunately, our friends at Wolff don't have this part yet. Your suggestion of acquiring a standard endspring cap is much appreciated.
