Sporadic case ejection

I have a gun that spits the brass all over the place (upwards, straight back, to the left). Also their strength varies a bit, some seem to beardy make it out (one every 25-30 gets ‘caught’ by the slide). This is with reloads that work fine in my Beretta.

factory ammo functioned fine, but don't recall how they ejected.

What exactly causes these?

What type of gun is it?

Could be extractor tension or ejector angle, combination of the two. Without more detail it's tough to tell.
