Speed Six with 3" barrel?

A while back I picked up a Speed Six S/S with what I was told a 2 3/4" barrel. I was comparing the Speed Six with my GP100 3", checking out measurements and etc. When I measure the Speed Six barrel it reads 3", the same as the GP100. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a 3" barrel instead of 2 3/4"? Any help would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Yes, although most of the Speed Sixes were made in the shorter(Standard)2-3/4" barrel length, Ruger also(In the later years)had made the Model GS-33 Speed Six, for USPS and several more went out to the general public and more were made at the very end of the "Six Series" revolver production run in 1988(All of these GS-33's were unmarked(Except for the GS-33 Model number on the gun box!))! These(3")Speed Sixes, were also heavier barrels than were the standard 2-3/4" snubbie Speed Sixes(Also, with a wider barrel rib and a wider underlug)! :D
