Sorry about that. Bad outcome.

I often am asked about cleaning firearms. I go through the kits, the chemicals and the Hoppes #9 and nickel warnings, remove the grips and so forth. I recently told a fellow shooter about CRC Brakleen and using it to quickly clean his firearms. He tried it and liked it. Sounds OK so far but, he sprayed his Springfield Armory 1911 with night sights by Trijicon. The night sights did NOT react positively to the aerosol cleaner. They were getting weak but, they were ruined. He isn't mad, they needed replacing anyway. I have not seen such a wrinkly mess before. Anybody else given advice that worked for you but, ruined somebody elses firearm/day?
