So who is Harley Nolden?

Last chance to say a few words about yourself before it's set in stone for all time. :D

John

P.S. - I appreciate all of the help and I've learned bunches and bunches about guns I didn't know existed.

Well, until he was about 19, he was a normal American kid living in the heartland.

Then, one day, he was bitten by a radioactive M1 Garand, a leftover from the nuke tests in the desert in the 1950s...

From that day, he gained superhuman powers that he used only for good and to combat evil as GUNMITHMAN!

The rest, as they say, is the stuff from which legends are made...

Or comic books.

Harley,

You speak little about yourself; you help anyone who asks. You're intriguing.

Do you have plans to participate in other forums in the future?

Oh my goodness:

From the sounds of it someone wants a bio: Here it is:

The comments from Mike are somewhat true. I was born in the Heartland, (MN) and I did spend, on special assignment, 5 yrs at the Nevada Test Site back in the 60's but the part about the ledgend is purley fiction.

I spent 22.5 years in the Army, mostly as a competive pistol shooter, Army Team Pistol Coach (three Gun) and Olympic Pistol coach, (one ladies world champion, 1 silver medalist Olympics) Gun Plumber, Custom stock maker and gunsmith.

I even qualified for the 1972 Olympics in standard pistol and Free Pistol. For Germany that is. However, my aliegence to the United States, and being in the military prevented me from participating for them.

I spent another 20 years as a Fed. Firearms Specialist for Civil Service, U.S., Treas. I am now retired, fish alot, east coast Georgia, play hearts and maintain a library of collected firearms information collected thru the years.

this libary has hundred's of books, on military firearms, civilain guns too, and I have transplanted them all to CD Rom. This information is provided free of charge for enyone who asks. Kind of like returning what was provided to me over my 44.5 years in the U.S. Gov.

OK! That's me. Anybody obeject? LOL (Laugh Out Loud)

As to where I'm going to hang, If y'all will have me I would like to stay in Research. Up to da boss.

Don:
Historical information, assem/disaseem instructions, dimensional data from books I have collected over the years. Mostly from older books and guns. I have transferred the information from these books to CD Rom, and when asked, the information is researched, and if I have it, sent by email at no charge to the requester. In particular WWI & WWII guns, and old Double bbl shotguns. In addition the hardware guns and cross over lists.

Attached is an example:

Harley,

Thank you for all the info and advice over the years. It has been wonderful reading the info here even though this is not where I made most of my posts.

What Harley does NOT explain about himself,
you will find out if you deal with him.

- If you believe he has incredible historical resources, he does.
- If he tells you something is a fact, it is.
- If you ask him to keep something confidential, he will.
- If you let him know you need help, he'll give it.
- If you become indebted to him, he'll never mention it.
- If, from all this, you suspect he's a gentleman, he is.

This is my personal experience with Harley Nolden.

Harley has made me realize that the older I get the less I know. His knowledge, however, amazes me. In short, what Dennis said---in spades!

I have always enjoyed Mr. Nolden's posts and seeming endless well of knowledge. He is one of the main reasons I visit TFL.

Sure, start a thread like this while I'm off training and without internet access! Damn, you boys got more outta Harley with a couple of posts than I've gotten in 6 years of emails!

I think Dennis said everything I might have....only better. Dennis has a bad habit of doing that. ;)
