What would be a good price on a used, non-collectible, very good condition Model 17? Anybody know of a good source? My favorite shops are empty of this model-I just missed one


Really, I need two. Doesn't everyone? I've been reading too much. I keep on and I'm gonna have to work more than the 1100 hours overtime I put in last year just to pay for ammo.

Around here (Southern New Mexico) they are going for about $300, give or take a bit.

My usual dealer found one for me. A 17-3 6" manufactured in 1975. Some bluing wear the muzzle. $300. That makes three S&W revolvers purchased this year-all pre-betrayal. All in very good conditon-one is an unfired NIB 27-2 made in 1978.

1100 hours of overtime !!!!! I thought I was bad. I am shooting for something like that this year and am off to a good start on it. So far, I have spent every dime of it on guns so it wasn't a wasted effort like if I would have fixed up the house or something.
