Smith Enterprise or Sadlak M1A mount need custom fit for SA rifles?

Just bought a new Springfield M1A Loaded, was looking at scope mounts.

Is my receiver "out of GI specs" as I have read requiring a custom fit for the SE or Sadlak scope mount? If yes, is there a good quality steel mount available that does not require special fitting?

If I understand right, both of those mounts have a slide-in brace for the stripper-clip holder and a screw that tightens on the receiver at the front.

Both should work.

If your receiver is way out of spec (unlikely) any mount well need fitting. You can buy the Sadlak receiver check kit very cheap, it well tell you if it's out of spec. Then go from there.

If you want a very good scope mount for a M1A check out McCann Industries in Spanaway Wa. I have one of the older ones and it is bomb proof. They are spendy but worth it. Rich McCann makes some of the best scope mounts made.

Both the SEI and Sadlak mount are of the highest quality and I give the SEI scope mount the edge.

BTW, is the Mccann a see through mount for iron sight use?

Regarding McCann M1A Mount

The mount you show is super solid...but McCann now has an updated mount that requires no gunsmithing is costs about $170. It's considered the top on the market and should be checked out.
