Smith and wesson still makes the model 10? (link in side)

It is the same gun. The differences though are as follows:
1) it has a heavy barrel as opposed to the old taper down "pencil" barrel
2) it has rubber grips yet non checkered wooden grips can be bought separately
3) it has that dreaded "child safety" lock on it :rolleyes:
3) it has an internal firing pin

Lew Horton made a run of model 10,s with 4" pencil barrell. The grips that come with them look like square butt although are round butt. I have one and is niece piece and shoots poa.

I see the 10 is down to one barrel configuration (4-inch HB) and is available in round butt only. I used to see it brand-new all the time in 2-inch, 3-inch standard, 3-inch HB, 4-inch standard, even 5- and 6-inch barrel lengths, not to mention square butt.

Anyway, the Model 10 may not be the leader it once was, but it's still one of the great revolver designs ever.
