Smith and Wesson 34-1

I just layed away this little guy. A 34-1 that I learned was likely made in 1971(s#m26301). It's got the original box with it and is in nice shape overall. Hopefully paid a fair price as it was comparable to what is on GunBroker. They had this one marked at $699 and I'm paying $575. It'll probably never be the kit gun that it is again, but it'll have a good home.

Let me know what you think.

Great little guns.
Very fond of mine & wish S&W still made 'em (and made 'em right).

Yes, the box is matching. I'm excited to get it, although it'll be several months before it's paid off. I will say this though; I handled a model 317 today, which apparently is their new "kit gun" and I was not impressed. They are two very different revolvers.

Congrats on the new addition, I enjoy a good 34 or my pre34 for plinking. They are solid revolvers.

Very good deal, particularly for a snubbie 34.

I had a nice 34-1 (made in 1978) that I gave to one of my grandsons several years ago. It too had the box & papers. Just gave my stainless version, the Model 63, to another grandson this past Christmas.

They are wonderful high quality little wheel guns.

Sorry about the dirty window screen reflections on my old 34-1:

Here's mine:

It's an older model, built on the tiny I frame. I bought it 15 years ago at the LGS. It was misidentified as a 17. I couldn't believe the price, I almost did myself an injury whipping out my wallet. The owner was suspicious when I didn't even try to dicker.

I have a 34-1 flat latch I suspect was made in the early 60s. No box or paperwork and the original grip had been replaced with a fake stag horn grip. I installed a Houge grip. I paid $250 OTD. I thought I got a good deal till Natman came along.

You did get a good deal. What I paid for mine was the best deal I ever got on a gun.
