Smith 432PD Problem

Hi
Just got a NIB 432PD (.32H&R mag.) I lubed it with Rem Oil and shot 50 rounds of Triton High Velocity through it. Several times the trigger stayed back and failed to reset. I managed to get it to reset by squeezing it very hard and sharply smacking the bottom of the grip with my weak hand. Any ideas on what may be going on here? :confused:I plan on calling Smith in the morning. Thanks

Production of the 432PD and it's brother the 431PD were stopped a couple years ago but there are still some supplies of these nifty guns out there NIB as "new old-stock" (NOS).

It could be that the lubricant in the gun has dried up enough to turn to varnish (though unlikely). Adding "just a bit" of Rem oil might allow it to work but still be sticky. I'd try flushing the action out with Gun Scrubber or a similar product, then relubricating the action.

It could simply be a bad rebound spring too. S&W can correct that quickly by replacing the spring and inspecting the gun.
