Some of them are really really tight to get on. The only way to get my trigger group back on was to use a vise, and slowly tighten it on with a rag used to protect the finish until it clips into place. Be careful not to use too powerful and big clamp as it may bend the trigger guard.

Thats assuming you got the safety on and can't slam it on with a hard pound from the back hand. Some of those clips just don't have much give in them, mixed with a hard spring makes it really tough to get some of the trigger mechanism on.

My Russian (Tula) SKS has a rediculously stiff latch spring.

I use the same Method Chris mentioned. Deadblow mallet.

Beat that sucker into submission!

I think i had the safety off, when I get home from work Ill try again...

if not, looks like I'll be picking up a mallet!

this is the first time i've ever disassembled it this far, thought the trigger group came out fairly easy, it doesnt seem to want to go back in haha

You have got to wack the every loving hell out of it...

no joke, I've brused my hand before trying to get that mother to latch back...

rubber mallet is probably the best way.
