SKS model D Norinco

My father gave me a Norinco Model D SKS and the stock sucks! First thing I did was remove the bayonet. I am thinking of replacing the stock with a T6 .

Has anyone out there done it? Are they ok? Some Little Whittling Mods needed to accommodate the AK Magazine. I don't care about the bayonet. I don't care about the cleaning rod. I'm just looking for a rifle that fits me and serviceable!

I like the Tapco T-6 stocks (made in USA). Fit & finish is great & they're easy to install. Instructions were in ENGLISH. I put the ACU camo stock on a Chicom and the tan stock on a Yugo.
Stocks counts as three US compliant parts.

Toolman: Thank you. I was most settled on getting one. You was the Icing. I don't know if this one is pinned barrel or threaded. I have not got that far yet. I don't care and both are good. I will still have a PDU " Personal Defence Unit"

I've got a "D" model too .... the Tapco SKS stock will work for sure ?

I love the wood stock, but man I'd love to have that Tapco, too.


What about the Ultimak rails ..... do they fit the shorter barrel and op rod on the Chinese SKS "D" ?

Yea the Pre Ban ones did! I have had four that came with the spike. I think I paid something like $70.00 for the first one. Those days are over.

Advertise as it will work with the model D!

All Norincos that were imported before 1989 came with bayonets, apart from a few rarer sporters they exported. Then Bush signed an executive order banning the import of semi automatic rifles with assault rifle like features, and one of those was a bayonet, so it was easier to sell them without. Then in 1993 the Norinco SKS' stopped altogether due to Clinton signing an executive order preventing the import of Chinese firearms apart from the odd shotgun.

Well you all had your chance! You couldn't do it! You didn't talk me out of it! It's on it's way tracking number and all. Due to my employment status, I chose the Earth version. I hope to post a photo, with a cheesy smile in about 7 days!

Received both stocks! I don't like them as on the model D, they leave a open gap between the mag and the stock. Anyone want them? They kick but on other none removable mag SKS.


1/2 price. Paid $95.95 + $14.00 shipping, I will take $60.00 on the ACU camo T-6 .

1/2 price . Paid $79.95 + $9.95 shipping. I will take $45.00. on SKS T-6 Earth.

I will ship with original papers. Minus my personal info. I know shipping would only be about $5.00 in the continental U.S.
