Sorry for bothering you again on this same topic, but before purchasing my next handgun ( a sig p226 x-five ), I want to know if it can be shipped to us when I move there. It would identical, except the exterior to this one : http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=4995851

That gun will be very easy to import to the United States. It meets all import requirements.

While guns CAN be imported to the US, even if a particular firearm is perfectly legal to import (and even available here otherwise), importation may not necessarily be practical.

There was a thread on this not long ago in general discussion... you'll need to find someone with a US Federal Firearms License that allows them to import guns, then make arrangements with them to get it done (unfortunately, I can't even begin to tell you where to look for this). The cost and trouble may make it less annoying to sell the gun over there before your move and order one once you establish residency here.

So...

Possible? Sure.
Easy? Not really.
Worthwhile? Again, not hopeful.

Yeah, I've been through the import process a few times and while it's not really very difficult, it can take a long time and isn't cheap.

If it's a gun that's pretty easy to find in the US (like an X5...) it is really not worth it, especially because they are already expensive in Europe. You'd bring it to the USA and have a $3500 X5, when you could just buy one here for $2000.
